[OLD]

Ian looked at her and smiled. "I'll forgive you this time," he said to her. He stretched and yawned, surprised at how tired he felt.

[NEW]

Raven leaned over and kissed him. "I guess I should let you sleep." She took off her shoes and jeans as she prepared for bed.

"I'm not that tired," he said, watching her. "I wouldn't object to a little company in here," he said, indicating his sleeping bag.

Raven knelt down on Ian's sleeping bag. "Then it's a good thing I'm not that tired, either, my love," she teased.

Ian chuckled and pulled her down beside him, kissing her softly.

She wrapped her arms around his neck, losing herself in his kiss.

Ian smiled and put his arms around her, enjoying the feeling of being with her.

'You know," she said, running her fingers through his hair, "I could get used to this."

"So can I," Ian whispered softly in her ear before kissing her again.

She said nothing as she lay back on the bag, enjoying the magic of the woods and the stars... and Ian.

-----------Later------------

Ian's eyes fluttered open and he looked around, a little disoriented. It took him a moment to remember where he was. The sun had risen and he could see shafts of sunlight through the trees. He felt someone move beside him and smiled as he turned and saw Raven lying beside him. He leaned back, relieved that it hadn't all been a dream.

Raven's eyes opened and she smiled. "Good morning," she whispered, caressing his cheek.

"Good morning," Ian said, kissing her softly again. "Sleep well?"

"Definitely," she grinned, rubbing her leg against his.

Ian smiled and sat up. "I should have packed some coffee."

"Well, if you need help waking up, we can always go for that swim," she suggested. Although she was enjoying cuddling with Ian, she wouldn't mind going back to the lake.

"I think another swim would be good," Ian said with a smile. "It would be a great way to wake up."

She leaned forward and whispered, "Among other things...." Then she got up and dressed so they could hike back to the lake.

Ian smiled and dressed quickly. He gathered their supplies and packed them hastily. He looked at her and held her pack up for her to put on before putting on his own pack and moving back to the trail.

They made good time going back down the the lake. Before the sun was much higher, they'd reached their destination.

Once again, Raven set her pack down, stripped and dove into the lake. The water was a lot cooler and the chill felt good against her bare skin. She came up for air and immediately began to swim to the far side to keep her muscles warm.

Ian had expected her actions this time and quickly followed suit, howling loudly as he surfaced in reaction to the cold water. He dove under again then surfaced and began swimming, enjoying the exertion.

Raven heard Ian howl and smiled. The lake was chilly, but she was enjoying herself. She turned as soon as she reached the shore and headed back.

Ian saw her turn back toward him and paused in the middle of the lake, treading water as he watched her swim.

Raven was focused on getting back, so she passed him before she recognized he was there. She stopped and turned. "Are you okay?" she asked, treading water.

"I'm fine," he said to her. "I was just enjoying the view."

She swam over to him and gave him a kiss. "I love you."

"I love you, too, Raven," Ian said. "We should probably get going though."

"Yea," she said reluctantly. She swam more slowly to the other side and climbed out of the water. The chilly air made her shiver. She called for a towel and dried off quickly. "I wish we could stay here for a little longer," she confessed when Ian joined her.

Ian took his time drying off as he watched her. "And what would we do?" he asked her.

Raven wrapped her arms around Ian. "I'm sure we could think of something."

Ian smiled and put his arms around her. "Twice in one night not enough for you?" he asked, leaning down to kiss her again.

"Are you telling me you're not interested?" she teased back.

"I'm very interested," Ian said, pulling her closer.

"So am I," she whispered before kissing him.

Ian returned the kiss and gently ran his hand down her back before taking her hand and leading her to a less rocky area near the water.

When Ian stopped, Raven turned to him. With a soft smile she ran her hands up his arms and around his neck. "I haven't been this happy in a long time."

"Neither have I," he said as he moved to lay on the grass.

Raven's eyes locked with his as her arms opened to welcome him.

------------Later----------------

As they walked out of the holodeck, Raven turned to Ian. "When can I see you again?"

Ian looked at her and smiled. "I need to get caught up on some of my work," he said to her. "How about tomorrow night?" he suggested.

"That sounds great. What do you want to do?"

"Oh no you don't," he said with a chuckle. "I chose our activity this time. Our next date is your choice."

"Okay," she replied, chuckling. "I'll think of something and let you know."

Ian smiled and leaned in to kiss her. "Have fun today," he said to her.

"As much fun as I can have without you," she retorted. "See you tomorrow."

Ian smiled warmly and kissed her again. "I love you," he said before turning and walking to the lift.

"I love you, too," she said, watching him walk away. Then she turned and headed in the opposite direction.
