506 words; about a 3 minute read
Mission:
Preparing The Fleet
Location: Captains Ready Room
Timeline: Current
Edward was getting madder by the minute. He didn't care for the loss of any of his crew, never. He further held his contempt for the entire Romulan race in. Very few knew of his personal experience with them and Fannin wished to keep it that way. He need to see Commander Darkmoon as soon as possible regarding station security. Ed had full confidence in Darkmoon's abilities to protect the station, but this was the first time he had to deal with this type of situation on Typhon and it was a chance to learn what the security procedures were taking place.
He tapped his comm badge, "Commander Darkmoon, report to the Ready room."
"On my way." Krang responded. A few moments later he found himself outside the door to Fannin's office. He pressed the chime and waited to be admitted.
Commander Johnson had just left, and Fannin was relived to see his security chief enter.
"Krang, glad your here. Tell me how security is deploying for a Yellow alert on the station. It seems I'm getting a crash course today."
"Standard formations really. We have increased our presence at all access points both external and sensitive internals. We have all non-essential personnel reporting to designated safe zones. It should take about," he checked his wrist chrono and continued, "about another 25 minutes and we will have the station completely secured."
"That's good news. My concern is the presence of any possible Romulan agents. I haven't heard from intel yet. I have caught wind that an advance team may be here prior to the Arrival of the Romulan Ambassador. We'll need those people watched very closely."
"I'm a step ahead of you. Under the guise of securing the station, the Romulan team has been separated from the general population and secured in a separate location." Krang said with what passed for a smile for him.
"I knew I could count on you, with the tensions running a bit high I would be hard pressed to explain if one of them got tossed out a hatch or something. As you may know I hold a very low opinion with "Those people". I can assure you there is a valid reason for it too."
Krang just shrugged his shoulders. "I'll take your word for it on the Romulans, Sir."
"Thanks for your help Krang, And I wouldn't recommend a vacation to Ch'Rihan either. Just in case you were making any plans."
"Chi'Rihan?" Krang asked confused. "Where's that?"
"One of the Romulans' more interesting planets where secrets are kept."
"Thanks for the warning I guess." Krang said. "Once again, I'll take your word for it. Is there anything else you need from me during this crisis?"
"No I think you have everything well under control here as usual. If something does arise let me know"
"Understood, Sir." Krang responded standing and turning to leave. "You'll be the second to know when I know something."
