[Raven's Quarters]

Raven's day was uneventful. Something for which she was grateful, considering the previous day's events.

She was still unsure of where she and Skyler were going with their relationship, but it promised to be... interesting.

She walked into her quarters and showered before changing into a pair of black jeans and a black peasant blouse.

Plopping onto the couch and propping her bare feet onto the back, she turned to Edgar. "So, anything new on the nets?"

Edgar fluttered down from his perch and began to recite a concise list of events around the Federation.

--------------------------

"Lieutenant Commander Skylar?" A Vulcan woman, this time from Engineering asked.

"Ensign T'var?" Skylar responded, without looking away.

"Sir, the PADD with instructions is not supposed to be welded to that panel." T'var noted, somewhat dryly.

Skylar tapped a few instructions into the PADD. The instructions for that specific support beam now had listing for an 'emergency instruction booklet'.

It also had an instruction placed in it for how, in theory, she could take some of the science equipment, and, quite literally, go fertilize herself with a genetic clone.

T'var didn't get the joke. Sirgei thought it was hilarious.

Skylar decided his shift was over, and headed for, with no real reason assigned, nor needed, Raven's quarters.

------------------------------------------------

Skylar pressed the doorbell, and patiently waited for Raven to answer. She knew who it was already, most likely. But it was still polite, none the less.

Raven felt Skylar's presence before he rang her chime. "Edgar, we're done for now. Is there anything urgent in the remaining list?"

"No more than usual," Edgar replied.

"Good. Then we're done." ~Come in,~ she told Skylar.

As the door opened she sat up. "Computer, grant Commander Skylar permanent access to my quarters. Effective immediately."

"Access granted," the computer stated.

Skylar quirked an eyebrow, as he entered the room. "A most curious statement to walk in on, Raven." Skylar said with a smile tugging the side of his mouth. "I will ring the doorbell, regardless, just so you know."

"That may change," she said enigmatically. "I wasn't sure if you'd come by, but I hoped you would." She was beginning to believe things might actually work out between them.

"I had sort have figured as much." Skylar said with a smile. "Have you eaten? I could cook something, or we could replicate it."

Raven paused for a moment, then started to chuckle. "You know, I hadn't actually thought about food. Edgar was catching me up on the latest Intel. Are you hungry? I could replicate something for you."

Skylar chuckled. "I am sufficient, for approximately 2.4 hours." Skylar stated.

"Then what would you like to do for the next 2.4 hours?" She knew it was a very open-ended statement and could lead to a wide variety of responses.

"I had thought to discuss some of the things we have yet to discuss, and, quite simply, to enjoy your company." Skylar said with a smirk.

Raven curled her feet under her and patted the couch. "Yes, we do have things to discuss. Have a seat." Discussion first. Enjoying his company would have to wait... for now.

Skylar quirked an eyebrow. "I had pondered what to discuss, throughout most of my work shift. I have concluded that I do not know where to begin." Skylar said. "But, then, I am fairly certain you are aware of this."

Raven smiled. "A bit, yes. We've managed to jump from point A to point Q in a relatively short period of time. It would be nice to fill in some of the other letters."

Skylar chuckled. "Indeed." He said with a smile. "Where would you like to begin?"

"B?" Raven joked.

"Well, I suppose that would be fairly logical, but I'm also fairly certain logic has nothing to do with it. Why not start with something random. An R, or an F, perhaps." Skylar returned the joke.

"That sounds promising. Which F would you like to start with?"

An entertaining joke slipped through Skylar's mind. He chuckled. "Some things are probably best left unsaid."

Raven turned bright red. "Maybe not. So, we're back to what to do for the next 2.39 hours. To be honest I don't care, as long as I can spend time with you."

Skylar nodded, and gave Raven a big hug. "You are distracting. It is rather endearing. Did you know this?"

"No, I didn't," she confessed. "But I must admit, I find myself thinking about you a great deal. I warn you, though. I'm generally a very tactile person."

Skylar nodded. "I am fairly certain that I can live with this." He said with a chuckled.

"Good," she said, taking his hand in hers. "So, we have two and a half hours. Do you want to play a game, go for a walk, go flying, find a holodeck...?" There were other things that came to mind, but she was trying very hard not to think of them at the moment.

"Or, perhaps some other things." Skylar said with a quirked eyebrow. "Do you play Chess?"

"Yes. I have a chess board with Ravens and Dragons."

Skylar chuckled. "I have several boards. Some are ornate, and others are usable. I would find it entertaining to play, but the telepathic link between the two of us is currently at a level we do not control, which would make it little more than an attempt to establish such a control system."

"I think things will settle down with time. My parents played chess together and were able to do so without knowing each others' moves. So it seems only logical that we should be able to do it as well. If not now, then later. This rules out a lot of games right now, wouldn't it?" she asked him. "Do you swim?"

"I do not know how." Skylar said. "I keep failing that course horribly."

"Then I will have to teach you one day," she assured him. "I don't swim a lot, but I do enjoyit from time to time. Mostly, though, I read and listen to music."
