Mission: Winds of Change
Location: Starbase Typhon - Chief Operations Officer's Office

Delilah, and all over her grace and glory, approached the office of the Chief Operations Officer. She found herself a bit confused as to dealing with a Romulan, but felt that it would be a completely unique experience.

Selith looked up at the door chime sounded. "Come in," he said, saving his current work. He then return to the blank main screen, Romulan paranoia persisting, even after several years in Starfleet.

The Yeoman smiled. "Commander Selith, I see you're working. I did not intend to disturb." Delilah smiled pleasantly at the man.

"It ok. I need a break. What can I do for you?" Selith replied, getting up and walking over to the replicator. "Can I get you anything?"

"No. No thank you Commander. I am just paying a small social visit. I know that some of the senior staff have issues dealing directly with Captain Hawkins and I thought it appropriate for me to extend an olive branch." Delilah watched the Romulan, fascinated.

"Really? I've had no problems with him." Selith replied, turning to the replicator. "Hot Chocolate. In fact, i was impressed with him. Not many people can handle serving with a Romulan." He said, grabbing the cup, then indicated the seat in front of an empty bookcase as he headed for another nearby chair.

Delilah was not really surprised that the Captain and a Romulan would get along far more famously than the Captain and the rest of his crew. "Well Commander, you'd be the first."

"Not exactly a bad thing. I'm not sure I'll be making too many friends, myself." Selith grimaced.

"You make the friends you choose to make Commander." Delilah grinned.

"Some of these people would make even lousy enemies." Selith grumbled. Especially one freighter captain.

Delilah nodded. "Or formidable ones. It's not my job to underestimate."

"Oh, I'm sure some of them will try to cause problems. Unfortunately, I don't think they'll be my biggest problem." Selith sighed, thinking of the conversation earlier with the Romulan ambassador.

"Well Commander, I will say that I am pleased that you don't have issues with Captain Hawkins. It's nice to hear that someone understands him." She laughed gently to herself.

Selith smiled, unsure of what to say next. He wasn't used to people being so at ease in his presence.

Continuing her pleasant smile, Delilah nodded. "Unfortunately Commander, as you have not been wronged by the Captain I must be moving along. More feathers to smooth."

"No problem. Thank you for the visit." Selith stood up and escorted the yeoman to the door.
