Mission:
Celebrate Culture
Location: Promenade
The promenade and the civilian areas of Typhon were bustling full of people for the festival. Aria had taken a look at the amount of people who had flocked aboard and it numbered in the thousands. The vendors and shop owners had made a good job of decorating the promenade.
Station security had been mobilized to keep the order. Aria knew that anything could happen. Her security teams had been alerted that theft and minor skirmishes between people may occur. Also with the amount of alcohol they were working closely with medical just in case someone drank too much in celebration.
Aria was patrolling on the upper promenade deck, watching the hustle and bustle down below. Typhon had a good one hundred decks of promenade, which was more like a gigantic city mall in space. It was always hard to police because of its sheer size and complexity.
Hosting such a large festival was a daunting task for all departments involved. Not the least of which was all the logistics involved. William was circulating the Promenade trying to head off any issues before they arose. There was always someone who didn't plug into the power grid properly, or could better arrange their area to better suite the flow of people.
While he didn't doubt his his ability to deal with any potentially rowdy clients, William had requested and received a security escort just in case an encounter went bad. It never hurt to have backup and/or a second witness.
Kira was teaching a disco aerobics class at Xanadu. Business had picked up and a number of visitors were interested in the ancient Terran form of exercise. "One, two, three, four," she counted as she led the group through a series of movements geared to help them improve both flexibility and overall health. A classic disco song played over the hidden speakers. The song came to an end and a slower piece began to play. "Now, everyone on your mats. It's time for some cool-down stretches." She sat down with her legs straight in front of her and demonstrated the first stretch. "Don't boune. Keep the movement slow nad gentle. Only go as far down as you're comfortable. It'll get easier in time."
Miral Annhwi sat in her VIP quarters, observing the activity on the promenade over her viewscreen. As the Ambassador from Romulus, she was not required to participate in the cultural activities, but she did have a certain curiosity about them. History was one thing, but this clear attempt to celebrate diversity was not something she was familiar with.
Meeting with Mabrade, meeting with the CIO check and check, exploring the station that was now her home, Serena was working on. There was so much she wanted to check out closer, she very much wanted to see every nook and cranny but now was not the proper time for it. Just getting the basics was going to have to do for then. She paused near main shopping area, she had quite a build up of latinium maybe it was time to actually spend some of it....
Rii'Na had stepped out of 'Saints and Sinners' for some fresh air. Some of those sorts of affairs just seemed to overwhelm her. Suddenly she felt the station shake. "Prophets Above! What was that?! Not on the station for even a week and it's shake rattle and roll!"
TAG ANYONE (Doing things on the Promenade etc)

There was a tremendous explosion from below Aria which physically shook the station. It was followed by two more explosions which could be heard in the distance from the other side of the circular promenade. Red Alert Klaxons sounded and wailed, and the sheer sound of screams and cries could be heard.
Aria wasted no time in setting off at a run.
=A= Kanzaki to all Security Teams =A= she shouted over the panic tapping her comm badge as she ran. =A= Find the source of those explosions and initiate crowd control measures. Have medical teams deploy to those areas and tell Operations to lock-down all docking hatches and transporter rooms! =A= Aria ordered.
William and the Crewman had just finished talking with one of the regular merchants, when a series of explosions ripped through the station. Before the dust could settle, he heard the Security Chief's order over the comm-badge of the Security Crewman.
"Go! Help with crowd control. Remember that many civilians are looking to you for direction, try to at least appear like you have everything under control."
Bidding a hasty goodbye to the merchant, who was already closing up shop, William headed in the opposite direction of most the crowd. He was hoping that they were heading away from the explosion. As he did so, he tapped his commbadge.
=/\= Huxley to Ensign Kelley, lock-down all docking hatches and transporters. Until we figure out what's going on, no one is to get on or off the station without approval from the Command Deck. =/\=
[Intel]
Raven felt the shockwave from the explosions, followed by alarms on the computers in Intel. She ran over to the computer and quickly assessed the situation. "Computer, initiate Raven 7-2-7 Delta lock down. Senior staff access only. Track all ships entering or leaving the station. Advise Khiy, Giocomo, ((ooc added since serena is part of intell now, if not okay i apologize)) and Kanzaki of any unauthorized activity."
"Acknowledged."
She wasn't sure where Darius was at that moment, so she sent him an encrypted message, informing him of the explosions. She paused for a moment, letting her Betazoid telepathy seek him out. She couldn't communicate with him, but there was enough of a bond for her to be able to tell if he was all right -- as long as he was on the station or attached to it.
Miral swore under her breath as the image before her shook and then filled with dust and debris. She went to her computer and quickly pulled up what data she could. There wasn't much. A call for emergency personnel, a general lock down, and then her computer went to the Starfleet logo. And the computer was locked down. Under the circumstances she didn't blame them, but it was frustrating not to have information.
She dressed quickly and went to her office to see if there was any official communication from the station or her government.
[The Morning's Wake - outer system]
N'alae walked down a corridor away from Sonos' office with a PADD in hand containing a lamentably long list of items that he had asked her to approve personally. All of them were going to have to be procured through back-channels since they couldn't just ask the Empire to send them the parts they needed.
Suddenly a klaxon sounded and the ship went to alert status three.
=A= Bridge to Commander N'alae. =A= Her first officer's voice cam over her comms.
"N'alae here." she responded.
=A= We've received a report of an explosion on Typhon. The station is in lock-down. =A=
N'alae headed for the nearest lift and hit the call. "Any information on what happened?" she asked. The doors opened and she entered. "Bridge." she told the computer.
=A= None yet. =A=
"Initiate containment protocols and inform Captain Mabrade that we are securing their perimeter. Detain anyone trying to leave and hold anyone on approach."
[Typhon station perimeter]
At a signal from the Morning's Wake a K'vort-class Klingon Bird Of Prey, the Khellian decloaked 500,000 kilometers from the station, the Grey Star Securities logo displayed large on her wings. A message from the Wake was relayed through the Khellian to the station.
=A= Typhon Station, this is Grey Star Securities. We have initiated containment protocols and are standing by to render assistance. =A=
"This is Typhon. Keep an eye out for any suspicious activity. This is either to cause a diplomatic disaster or it's a decoy. Either way, we'll need your help."
Once the message was acknowledge, the Khellian opened her bay doors allowing a flight of Peregrine fighters to exit, who quickly joined the squadron already on patrol outside the station. Once the fighters were clear, the Bird Of Prey raised her shields and held position.
A few minutes later three Ju'day-class vessels, also bearing the Grey Star logo, approached the station a high-impulse. They stopped another 450,000 kilometers out from the Khellian and took up a wide patrol at that distance.
Any vessel approaching the station was asked to stop and hold position until the current crisis was resolved.
[Typhon Station]
Khiy monitored the situation from his desk inside the offices of TGT. He watched on the screen as his escort assets did a well practiced dance of shifting positions and patrol re-routs to pick up the slack from exiting vessels. With the Khellian as the official Flag vessel, the other Grey Star Securities ships quickly fell into their new security routes to prevent ships from entering or leaving the immediate as was standard protocol.
This action plan was written weeks ago by the Starfleet security teams to keep order in the case of an emergency. Khiy was glad that his ships had practiced this plan a number of times to make sure it was as clean and efficient as possible. He was proud of his teams' execution of the action plan, and in particular, how N'alae had taken control of the situation. It was textbook.
As Khiy leaned back into his chair his eyes turned to the window looking out into the surrounding space. "Now let's hope this explosion is as bad as it gets." He said to no one.
